Gerard Magill

Vernon F. Gallagher Chair for
the Integration of Science, Philosophy, Theology, and Law at
Duquesne University, Dr. Gerard Magill was formerly Chair and
Executive Director of the Center of Health Care Ethics at Saint
Louis University, with faculty appointments in the College of
Arts and Sciences in Theology and the Schools of Medicine and
Public Health. As the Gallagher Chair, Dr. Magill works primarily
in the areas of health care ethics and bioethics. He continues
to serve on the St. Louis University Hospital Ethics Committee,
and is a member of the Institutional Review Board for research
protocols. He was the lead author of the Ethics Consultation
Liability, a national report commissioned by the American Society
for Bioethics and Humanities. Dr. Magill has also held teaching
posts in the theology departments of Loyola University in Chicago
and at Drygrange College in Scotland.
Dr. Magill holds a Ph.D. in
Theology from Edinburgh University, Scotland, and an S.T.L. in
Moral Theology, an S.T.B. in systematic theology, and a Ph.B.
in philosophy from Gregorian University in Rome. |
